چکیده

Current research to harness the power of P2P networks involves building reliable Semantic Peerto-Peer (SP2P) systems. SP2P systems combine two complementary technologies: P2P networking and ontologies. There are several types of SP2P systems with applications to knowledge management systems, databases, the Semantic Web, emergent semantics, web services, and information systems. Correct semantic mapping is fundamental for success of SP2P systems where semantic mapping refers to semantic relationship between concepts from different ontologies. Current research on SP2P systems has emphasized semantics at the cost of dealing with the traditional issues of P2P networks of reliability and scalability. As a result of their lack of resilience to temporary mapping faults, SP2P systems can suffer from disconnection failures. Disconnection failures arise when SP2P systems that use adaptive query routing methods treat temporary mapping faults as permanent mapping faults. This paper identifies the disconnection failure problem due to temporary semantic mapping faults and proposes an algorithm to resolve it. To identify the problem, we will A.-R. Mawlood-Yunis (B) · N. The FaultTolerant Adaptive Query Routing (FTAQR) algorithm proposed to resolve the problem is an adaptation of the generous tit-for-tat method originally developed in evolutionary game theory. The paper demonstrates that the reliability of an SP2P system increases by using the algorithm.

P2P Network Trust Management Survey

Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks

Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...

A Novel Caching Strategy in Video-on-Demand (VoD) Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks Based on Complex Network Theory

The popularity of video-on-demand (VoD) streaming has grown dramatically over the World Wide Web. Most users in VoD P2P networks have to wait a long time in order to access their requesting videos. Therefore, reducing waiting time to access videos is the main challenge for VoD P2P networks. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for caching video based on peers' priority and video's popula...

To Implement an Open-MAS Architecture for Semantic Web Services Discovery: What Kind of P2P Protocol Do We Need?

Recently, several models have been proposed to design distributed and collaborative infrastructures for web services based systems. In this area, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks and Multi-Agents Systems offer many techniques for web services discovery and composition. However, both of the two combinations (P2P/web services and MAS/web services) have suffered from some problems. This article present...

Non Omniscient Intensional Contextual Reasoning for Query-agents in P2P Systems

Given a de-centralized nature of the development of the Semantic Web, there will be an explosion in the number of ontologies in P2P systems. To integrate data from disparate ontologies, we must know the semantic correspondence between their elements. What we argue is the full epistemic independency of peer databases: they can change their ontology and/or extension of their knowledge independent...
